A medium to tall perennial with beautiful bell-shaped blue flowers.

Forget-me-not (Myosotis arvensis)
Short annual with blue-grey flowers occasionally interspersed with pink flowers.

Meadow buttercup (Ranunculus acris)
The tallest of our native buttercups, meadow buttercup has distinctive yellow petals.

Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria)
A tall grassland perennial with clusters of creamy white flowers.
Height: 60-90cm

Oxeye daisy (Leucanthemum vulgare)
The largest member of our native daisy family, this tall grassland perennial has distinctive white petal flowers and yellow floret.

Ragged robin (Lychnis flos-cuculi)
Beautiful tall perennial with raggedy red flowers.

Butterfly Mix

Forget-me-not (Myosotis arvensis)
Short annual with blue-grey flowers occasionally interspersed with pink flowers.

Geeklet: Forget me nots have been used in the past for their astringent properties. The name Myosotis is derivation of the Latin and Greek for mouse and ears.

Musk mallow (Malva moschata)
Description: A tall perennial with large rose pink petals.
Height: 40-70cm
Flowers: June to August
Geeklet: The plant is cultivated for its seeds, which are used in perfumes. The plant also yields a fibre that can be used for clarifying sugar.

Purple loosestrife (Lythrum salicaria)
A tall perennial with a spectacular spike of magenta flowers.
Height: up to 150cm
Flowers: June to August
Geeklet: A beautiful ornamental plant well suited to boggy areas.

Red campion (Silene dioica)
A perennial with rose pink petals.
Height: 20-60cm
Flowers: March to November
Geeklet: Silenus the merry god of the woodlands in Greek mythology, gave his name to Silene dioica. The second part of its scientific name, dioica, means 'two houses', and refers to the fact that each Red Campion plant has flowers of one sex only, so that two plants are needed to make seeds.

Yarrow (Achillea millefolium)
A perennial aromatic herb with white flowers arranged in a many flowered flat umbel head.
Height: 8-60cm
Flowers: June to August
Geeklet: Yarrow is a common herb that has been highly regarded for its medicinal properties in Britain since Anglo-Saxon times, it is said that Achilles used this herb to treat the wounds of his soldiers.

Birdsfoot trefoil (Lotus corniculatus)
A perennial with clusters of yellow/orange pea like leaves.

Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea)

Toxicity: Poisonous if eaten
Geeklet: Foxgloves are a really good ‘bridging plant’ as they bloom late May-June, a period when the bulbs have finished and the summer perennials are yet to be at their best!

Red clover (Trifolium pratense)
Perennial with trefoil leaves and pinky red flowers. Good weed suppressor.
Height: 10-45cm
Flowers: May to September
Geeklet: The trifolium can help to break up heavy soil over time, plus it adds nitrogen to the soil, meaning healthy plants all round!

Viper's Bugloss (Echium vulgare)
A tall biennial (flowering stem grows in the second year) with incredibly blue flowers emerging from pink buds.
Height: 30-90cm
Flowers: June to September
Geeklet: If you’re looking to do something a little different with your echium, why not try growing a low blue hedge with it, or scatter it amongst paving slabs to soften the landscape and add a punch of colour.

Wild Marjoram (Origanum vulgare)
Aromatic perennial with dark purple buds and pinkish purple flowers.
Height: 30-60cm
Flowers: April to November
Geeklet: The Wild Marjoram is not only a wildflower, but can also double up as a pretty damn tasty pizza topping, along with your very best sweet tomatoes!

 

Please note, warm sun and water are required for sprouts to form. November scattered seed balls are unlikely to sprout until the spring.
